Pediatric Environmental Medicine Center

The center also provides education related to the prevention and the appropriate treatment of asthma, targeting local communities where rates are disproportionately high.
Services offered by the PEMC include:
- Educational programs
- Community outreach programs and screenings
- Clinical research programs
- Basic research to investigate the impact of environmental/lifestyle factors on children
- Continuing Medical Education and training courses for healthcare providers
The center is generously funded by The Heinz Endowments.

As part of its mission, the Pediatric Environmental Medicine Center conducts community outreach programs, screenings, prevention/intervention programs for parents and caregivers, and educational programs, such as training courses for healthcare providers.
