Our Mission

The Rehabilitation Institute at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is dedicated to optimizing the quality of life of the children we serve through outstanding, family-centered rehabilitative care, research, and education.

Our Vision

To be a national leader in pediatric rehabilitation care, research, education, and advocacy.


Thank you to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which recently awarded the Rehabilitation Institute at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh an $8,424 grant to support pressure mapping technology, which will improve the quality of life of children who use wheelchairs.


Children's Hospital's Rehabilitation Institute's goals are to provide continuity of care to children and adolescents needing inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation services, and to provide high-quality, acute care rehabilitation services to hospitalized pediatric patients.
