2. Health Insurance: UPMC Advantage HMO – Premium for trainee and his/her eligible dependent(s) paid for by UPMC, no cost to the resident physician.

3. Dental Insurance: United Concordia and UPMC Dental both offer a Premium and Standard PPO – Premium for Standard PPO (individual coverage) is paid by UPMC, all other coverage levels have UPMC and the resident physician sharing the premium cost.

4. Vacation: Three weeks for PL-1s (divided into one-week and two-week blocks). Three weeks for PL-2s and PL-3s. More flexibility is available, and residents may request vacation days during non-call rotations in the length of their choice. Vacation requests are subject to approval by the chief residents.

5. Parking: On-campus, attached, covered parking is available to all residents for a small co-pay.

6. Life Insurance: Life insurance coverage is provided to the nearest $1,000 above the annual stipend and includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment.

7. Maternity Leave: At least 6 weeks of paid leave in addition to vacation time (listed above).

8. Disability Insurance: Paid short-term disability of up to 26 weeks of complete disability is provided. The trainee must provide/complete required documentation with Physicians Services Division and be under the care of a physician.

Long-term disability insurance coverage also is provided.

9. Professional Liability Insurance: Coverage is provided in accordance with Pennsylvania state mandated levels of coverage by Tri-Century Insurance.

10. Meal Tickets: Meal tickets are provided during night team shifts and rotations with weekend call for PL-1 through PL-5.
