Pediatric Simulation Center
Description of Services
|
The 2007 opening of the Pediatric Simulation Center of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC marks a leap in innovative education and research. The center is designed to address the educational needs of the clinical staff and the medical needs of our patients. It incorporates life-like simulators and multi-task trainers that allow healthcare professionals to recognize and manage a wide assortment of pediatric-related medical conditions.
Offering a learning system based on adult education principles, the Pediatric Simulation Center also helps faculty and staff create simulation courses tailored to the needs of our patients.
Melinda Fiedor Hamilton, MD, MSc, is the director of the Pediatric Simulation Center. She is also an assistant professor of Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the associate director of the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education and Research (WISER).
For more information, call the Pediatric Simulation Center at 412-692-5084.
