Great Doctor! - Wait time was not good, but that is because I work and needed to get back to office.
we waited 1hour and 15 minutes to be seen. wait time was too long for a scheduled appointment
The doctor we saw was very knowledgeable. She was able to explain to us exactly what will occur with my son's condition.
We were very comfortable and pleased with the doctor
I was surprised by how quickly they processed the x-rays and Dr. Gurtunca called back herself to leave a message with the results within a few hours. I believe our appointment with her was at 9, then we went downstairs for x-rays around 10:15, by 12:30 she called.
I always have a pleasant experience coming to Children's North for my son's care. Dr. Gurtunca is an excellent pediatric endocrinologist. She listens and answers any questions I have. She actively asks questions and is sincere. She is always very prompt in calling regarding lab results. She explains rationale for the medication dosages in relation to the lab results.
Well done !!!
My only complaint is that the doctor still hasn't gave me her results/diagnosis on the recent blood work and I have called twice.
The doctor was very thorough. She was patient and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend her to family and friends.
we had an 8:00am appointment. we wanted in the exam room for exactly an hour. When the Doctor finally showed up there was no apology for being late. what would have happened if I were an hour late to the appointment?
very pleased with the care we receive
All staff including the physician were respectful, provided information clearly, and were easy to speak with. They spent ample time for questions and answers and assured understanding.
as always they have done a great job
we waited an hour and ten minutes to see the provider.
I do not care for Dr Gurtunca whatsoever. She has always talked down to me at my son's appointments for years. he is about to turn 18 in a couple months and has been seeing her for years. she comes off as condescending.
I would recommend Dr. Grutunca to any parent. She cares for my child as I would.
waited almost an hour after his appointment time to be seen
My only complaint is that our appointment was for 2:00 and we waited roughly 40 min. to be seen. I u set stand things come up and delay time but it's hard to make a young child sit in a room and wait that long. having said that, I could not be more happier with the time the Dr. took with us.
The doctor did not review my daughters chart prior to the visit. She was unaware of critical developmental milestones that were discussed in previous 2 visits ie. breast development. This is critical to her care from an endocrinologist. This was our 3rd visit to see her and she showed no recollection or knowledge of information discussed during prior 2 visits. We will not be returning to see her as she was unable to provide helpful care and was very impersonal. She offended my daughter discussing her suboptimal growth.
The endocrinology staff is always helpful, understanding and very knowledgable about the issue present by me and my daughter. Dr Gurtunka in particular is fantastic. The Diabetic educators are also fantastic.
Bedside manor was poor
Our doctor does not seem to believe my concerns are valid. Some of her answers were not even answering the question that was asked and others are treated as though the concern is a problem with parenting and not a medical issue. I do not believe she adequetly has a good understanding of my daughter's condition but has been insistent on us staying with her care. when I had called to schedule this appointment I had scheduled it with a different doctor. our current doctoor had the office call me and ask me to schedule with her again. I did that, but after this visit our next appointment is scheduled with a different doctor. I believe we need a different perspective for the best way to care for our daughters diagnosis.
Dr. Grutunca is an exceptional doctor.
It was very refreshing to have the doctor be straight forward and honest about my sons health.
We went to Erie to see the Dr. The facility is very nice. We had no wait time to be taken to a room. There was very little wait time for the Dr. We felt that the doctor didn't review the information on the forms I filled out. She asked repeatedly for family history, but my son is adopted. I wrote that on the forms and I said that to her. She kept asking about my and my husbands family history, which wouldn't help with our son. We felt that she talked down to us and that we couldn't really talk and explain when she asked questions.
