We travel 3 hours each way to this facility. We have always been treated with respect, Dr. Mendleson and his staff are great. We appreciate the care and your facility. Thanks for everything!
Dr. Mendelson answered all of our questions
Always a great experience. Dr Mendleson is very nice, easy to understand, and thorough. The nurses, clerks and staff are friendly and caring.
Dr. Mendelson is an excellent orthopedic doctor.
Dr. Mendelson is outstanding
we were very pleased with the provider we seen for my child. it was our first time at the orthopedic practice and seeing the doctor
Dr. Mendelson's care was acceptable given my state of mind and focus were on my daughter. I said somewhat because he gave clear instruction but didn't do anything "exceptional". For a Friday afternoon, he was more than suitable. His nurse SHARON was the most amazing part of the visit. She alone is worth revisiting this office. He and Sharon together gave me sufficient belief my daughter's diagnosis and cast were administered with care and a desire for her to heal properly.
The doctor didn't seem to much care about us, when we called for the appointment we didn't care who we saw since we didn't have a preference, but he wasn't all that great.
We thought he was very informative, friendly and kind.
I loved the care my daughter received thank you Dr mendalson.
the dr is very funny and makes the kids laugh
Dr Mendleson is a wonderful DR I love him and i recommend him to any and everyone. He really helped my daughters back so thank you dr
listened to my concerns. did not wash hands before touching my child.
Dr. Mendelson was great in explaining the procedure to be used in setting my daughter's fracture. He helped put us at ease, and graciously answered all of our questions.
The care provider did a good job with my daughter's surgery.
The doctor was very nice and knowledgeable.
Dr is always helpful with recommendations and always answered questions q
The visit was very efficient, thorough, and helpful. Everyone from receptionist to nurse to doctor were very helpful.
was overall ok
Loved the Doctor! He was great! Spoke so we could understand!
staff and doctor great
It went well.
this was our first visit to see Dr. mendelson and he was very compassionate and helpful.
the other dr. at Childrens have all looked into our records but this Dr was more upset that the extant machine broke down and he was there past his time. He gave us no information and he had no idea what to do about our sons condition. Dr was rude and demeaning . I would never recommend this Dr to anyone.
Overall good experience. He addressed all our questions with explanation which eased off some worries related to my kid. I'm happy with the way he attended us. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
he was super nice
Best orthopedic doctor, wait time gets hectic because it's at a children's hospital, you never know what you are going to walk into. wait times vary and we know this.
We always enjoy visits with Dr. Mendelson. He is very friendly, with a great bedside manner, and he takes care to preserve my daughters' modesty while checking their scoliosis curves. He is willing to answer any questions or concerns I raise without talking down to me.
had to wait over 1 hour and 15 m8nutes to be seen.
I feel my daughter is in excellent care with Dr Mendelian he is well known for his expertise in his field
it was a very nice visit,
wonderful doctor. caring, compassionate. relayed all necessary information effectively regarding my daughter's condition.
Dr. Mendelson spent time talking with us, he was very kid friendly and answered my questions. I would definitely recommend him to others!
excellent. He answered our questions.
Dr Mendelson has cared for our daughter for 4 years. He provided surgery 3 times. We are grateful for his knowledge and skill of treating her tarsal coalition. We would definitely recommend him and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for excellent care.
We have not been in and out of an appointment so fast. Staff was extremely helpful, nice and it was greatly appreciated.
Everything went well and provider was caring and knowledgeable
Dr. Mendelson has done a wonderful job with all three of our children. Our oldest son had hip dysplasia and was in a brace as of 6 days old. Our daughter had a very mild case and was monitored. Our newest addition our pediatrician heard a hip click and due to family history as well recommended we get his hips checked. We have worked with Dr. Mendelson throughout all of these. My husband and I think very highly of him and would recommend him to other families in need of orthopedic care for their children.
Dr. Mendelson is an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend him to others. Not only is he excellent in his medical knowlege and skill, but he has been very kind and personable to both our daughter and my husband and me as well. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Mendelson is a great Dr. and a wonderful, very skilled surgeon.
I don't feel like the doctor interacted well; if at all with my son. the doctor spent a total of 5 minutes with us and although he answered our questions satisfactorily, I just felt it would have been nicer if he had elaborated more.
Dr Mendelson was very attentive to the concerns I had for my daughter after her surgery.
we arrived 20 min early for the appointment but still waited more than a hr to be seen by Dr then spent not even 6 minutes with Dr
didn't listen or care to know anything that has been going on with her. did not make eye contact while talking. did not provide any advice for helping her. He was in and out in 5 minutes. He came off as very arrogant.
It took 10 days to get the appt. The dr arrived at the appt 40 minutes late. The dr took less than 5 minutes with us and was very disinterested about the injury and treatment and even laughed that we brought him in. He never even looked at our x-rays or ordered new ones. We left with more questions that were not answered. A week later and we will need to follow up with a different dr as nothing has improved. I would never follow-up with this dr again.
Very good experience and everyone including doctor was patient in listening to our queries.
the doctor was arrogant and completely unprofessional. He did not listen to me or take me seriously to the point I was in tears. He talked over me and told me my child should just deal with her pain and chronic back pain is normal in children. IT IS NOT NORMAL NOR WILL I HAVE MY CHILD JUST DEAL WITH IT! I will NEVER recommend him to anyone. He said I was unorganized and even questioned if my child has had the previous testing that I told him of and continued to start sentences with "if your daughter actually had.." He also told me that there is no reason that my child's teacher and other school staff should be calling me to send my daughter home. so all within the 10 minutes he saw my child he believed he knew everything and everyone else was wrong and never once did he even speak to my daughter and try to understand her pain in her own words.
Will recommend Dr. Mendelson and the practice to anyone seeking pediatric ortho. He was attentive, friendly, energetic, and was very sweet with my baby. Addressed all my questions/concerns. Even pulled up US results and explained the image. He was great.
I'm highly satisfy with our doctor. Appointments take awhile to be scheduled but other than that I love children's hospital
Doctor and staff provided exceptional service. Thank you.
Excellent experience overall!
Dr Mandelson was very knowledgeable about my daughter's condition. He was able to explain to my husband and myself the care she needed for the future of her health. Told us the best way to go forward with her care.
I can't say enough good things about Children's. They are the most efficient with appointments that I've ever had. We never have to wait, they always take us in early if we get there early. At this last appointment we were out of there not even 10 minutes after the scheduled appoint.
We had a great experience! We saw the Dr. very quickly, and he, and all of the staff, were very kind and helpful.
Dr was great.
He was very friendly. He was able to ease my daughter's anxiety with his jokes.
Dr. Mendelson is an amazing Doctor! He has went above and beyond for Our daughter and explains everything to where we can understand. We have had some bumps along the way but Dr. Mandelson has always been very understanding and did what he could to help resolve the situation!
Dr Mendelson is a very compassionate doctor. Highly recommended!!!
we were referred to him for orthopedic concerns and X-rays. he was through and informative. this is not a Dr we see on a regular basis unless there is a concern within his specialty. we have seen him in past years and are happy with his care and explanations.
taking my daughter to children's hospital was a wonderful experience. everyone there was so helpful and kind. Dr. Mendelson was extremely respectful discussing all our questions and concerns. wonderful beside manor. my husband and I felt relieved after having him explain our daughter results. Gina, a registered nurse in the orthopedic department was the most lovely nurse. Gina really made my daughter feel safe and comfortable. My husband and myself would highly recommend Dr. Mendelson and his amazing staff.
I was not told that the prescription given to my child would only ensure that it wouldn't get worse and that it would not improve her condition.
we needed a visit for a specialist for our daughter and we called the children's doctor referral line and they got us a same day appointment. this was fantastic. the person not only found us a physician we needed but provided us with a great doctor, but also with great friendly helpful service. Cudos to the scheduler as well.
Dr. Mendelson is great! He's very knowledgeable and patient and answers all questions. Very kind to my son and I. My child sees many specialists at the hospital and Dr. Mendelson is one of the best!
We waited over an hour to be seen. Dr. Mandelson. Once we saw him he was condescending and really provided no assistance other than to tell my daughter to ignore the cyst and pretend it isn't their. When we mentioned that it caused pain he stated she would have to have it for a year before removing it. When asked if wrapping it would help with the pain he said "if it would make you feel better". I feel he did not take us seriously and brushed us off.
waited too long after Xray before seeing physician
I highly recommend Dr. Mendelson! excellent surgeon, with an amazing staff especially JoAnne Londino!
waited after X-ray to get an exam room, then waited 20 min more for dr to arrive.
Excellent service. Confidence in medical team.
Terrible wait time at the office. Did not see provider until an hour after scheduled time. also poor follow up from the awesome office staff. was told I would see the doctor within two weeks for a follow up but they could not find a time this year to fit me in with provider.
We are very pleased with Dr. Mendleson. He has known our family for approximately eight years, caring for all three of my children with scoliosis. He has always taken his time with all of our questions and concerns, and he has given us realistic and truthful information regarding their condition, bracing, surgery and healing. He did a wonderful job on my daughter's spine surgery and will be performing another surgery on my other daughter. Although we obviously would rather not have scoliosis, having a knowledgeable and caring doctor during this time makes this experience much easier, and as pleasant as possible.
Dr. Mendelson is excellent..very kind and respectful to us. I will be sad not to see him after he's healed.
Dr. was great. however, waiting for over a HOUR for a 5 minute doctor visit is ABSURD. I understand waiting but AN HOUR? Do better.
everything went great with our appointment.
The one concern I stil had was that Dr Mendelson said "in my opinion" my daughter has a stress fracture. If the xray was not clear enough to know for certain shouldn't a test be administered that does make the diagnosis absolutely certain? In fairness I did not ask this question at the appointment.
This was a follow up appointment, I was very pleased the doctor cleared some things up for my son.
My son's right ankle has been hurting for at least 5 years now. The xrays show nothing broken so I thought this visit would look at the muscles and tendons around the ankle. All the doc kept saying was kids have pain as they grow. When I said the pediatrician said growing pains are usually in both legs and mostly on the shins. He agreed but when I said again this is his right ankle only, he said he didn't say it was growing pains, he said kids have pains while growing. I took a day off work, got him out of school for A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. I AM NOT HAPPY
He was unclear in diagnosing her injury after viewing her x-ray. Our pediatrician suspected that she broke her fibula and he only stated that he agreed with the pediatrician. He was very nonchalant.
Unfortunately, the visit was complicated by mom's agenda, which she pushed from the start since she wants to pretend the pain is non-existent, citing the fact that he participates in activities as evidence, which of course is only confirming her bias. In all fairness, the doc didn't get to really get to hear my purpose for the visit due to the bizarre nature of it, including mom's claiming that I would take her to court over PT. I asked the doc to write a referral for PT, and he chose to reassure her that it wasn't an order and was optional. Not in the best interest of the patient in my opinion. I am sure the doc was unprepared for the onslaught that occurred, so I totally understand his reactions.
everyone was friendly and quick. we were in and out! even with an xray. love this hospital.
awesome doctor! very friendly. only bad is 3:05 appt. wasnt seen till 430 or so. long wait very backed up. But understand this happens. overall I am very please. thank you!!
The X-Ray staff were very caring and patient with our daughter. She was moving around a lot, but they were able to get a quality X-Ray. Dr. Mendelson answered all of our questions and took very good care of her our past 2 visits.
I just felt dismissed and that Dr. was insulted that we come see an orthopedic surgeon for nothing. I am relieved that everything is okay with my child but very disappointed in the 2 hour wait and attitude of the provider.
The doctor made his priorities known to my family. My son is 12 and plays soccer. He wanted to know if he would be able to play soon. The doctor was not concerned with him playing soccer. He was more concerned about how the bones heals, which is extremely important, but difficult for my son to hear, since soccer is extremely important to him and not being a orthopedic surgeon. I am hoping that he heals quickly.
They all did a great job!!
spoke in terms we could understand, spent time explaining things to my child, was very nice
Dr. M and staff were all very friendly, smart, and helpful. Dr. M answered my questions and was kind to my injured three year old.
Son expressed concern about cast discomfort and doctor seemed to shrug off fact that cast was very loose to the point entire arm can go in and touch injured knee. Joked about not having enough fiber glass to recast entire leg again. Claim the screws is what is holding it in place and not the cast, so if that is the case why put a cast all the way to his crotch?
He is an awesome doctor
I was very pleased with his appointment and care. We did wait an hour past his appointment time before being called back just for xrays however I understand it's a pediatric office and sometimes scheduling doesn't stay on tract and things happen.
wait time was horrendous
I really appreciate the level of care and professionalism provided during this hard time for us. We couldn't gotten a better team. Thank you all
I have no complaints, but I wish that Dr. Mendelsohn had directed more of his comments to my son and not just to me. I know he works with kids, but a 17 year needs to learn how to interact with doctors directly.
My daughter is 16 years old and has been experiencing back pain daily. The doctor only briefly examined her. He directed a general explanation of back pain to me and did not direct conversation to her. Our pediatrician recommended this doctor to us and we were hopeful that he would help us think about ways to address her pain to improve her quality of life. This did not occur. My daughter left the visit with only a suggestion to adjust her lifestyle choices. She does not want to have to give up her sport or experience pain daily when sitting in school. She was disappointed and discouraged.
Dr. Mendelssohn is OUTSTANDING. I recommend him often.
Dr Mendelson is a excellent Dr i recommend him to everyone. Takes very good of my daughter and shes doing so much better since her surgery.
the doctor was very cocky and rude. I was extremely concerned with my sone reinjuring himself due to the rowdiness of his siblings at home. the doctor was rude and laughed at any question or concern I had. I asked him to please show some concern with my child's injury and he stated "put tape on it and have him keep his hand in his pocket" REALLY!?!? this is ridiculous and not a way to treat a patient! plus I had a $30 copay essentially for 2 pieces of 4 inch tape. ridiculous!!
long wait to see dr after xrays were done. had addituonal staff with him that he didn't introduce. no idea who the other two people were. gave us bad news abour my son's back and said he'd see us in 3 mos.
All EXCELLENT from the checkin with Kathy to the rooming with Sharon to the visit with Dr Mendelson. All are top notch!!!
I waited for 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to getting in to the office then another 20 minutes for the Doctor to arrive, When he arrived he did not introduce himself nor did he show compassion for my child who was in distress and looking for relief for the symptoms in which he presented. After the doctor said many times that he cannot help me and continued to question why i was in his office several times despite me telling him that i was referred by the ER the previous night which was less than 8 hours prior to that appointment. He never looked at me nor did he perform a quality and compassionate exam on my son who was presented with very serious symptoms. Despite reading the medical notes from the ER he still remained blunt and reported that he could not help me. After much frustration and despair I assisted my son who was unable to stand alone or walk back into a wheelchair and told him that i was going back to the ER. He never tried to help me with my son who at the time was unable to walk, he never turned his head from the computer to stop me or try and calm me down nor did he offer assistance with the ER transport or call the Neurology department that he repeatedly said that was where I should have been.
We had to wait for an hour and a half to be called back, sitting with 3 kids for that long one being a newborn was not very easy to do. Plenty of people came in after me and were in and out before we ever got called back. I didn't feel confident with the answers I got from the doctor. He didn't seem to be truly listening to the details I was giving about my daughter, he even interrupted me. I asked a question about her having a blood count if her being on an antibiotic could've effected the results and he said it shouldn't. I didn't like the answer being that there is lymphoma on her maternal side and her paternal grandmother died of leukemia, which he explained to me is why they would've ordered a blood count to check for those things. When it is your own child you don't want to hear it shouldn't. I want a crystal clear answer when there are both of those cancers on both sides. I was referred to him by an orthopedic doctor (non pediatric) who had me log the dates of her pain and for how long it effected her. I told this doctor that and he didn't even ask to see them. I just overall feel like he didn't seem to listen to my concerns.
Our questions were answered and we were able to make informed decisions about our child's future treatment.
my child received excellent care from the staff and dr
I like how Dr. Mendelson always takes time to talk with me about school, work, sports, things that are going on in my life. I appreciate how genuine he is during my appointments. He listens to my concerns and carefully explains things to me.
Everyone was excellent
We love Dr. Mendelson. One of the best doctors!!
We were so pleased with how quickly we were able to see Dr. Mendelson. In the past we have waited over an hour. This time we were in and out before our appointment time. We we very happy with him and the timing.
Very positive experience with Dr Mendelson. Referral was made from our local orthopedist after he had determined our son's broken arm was not healing correctly
Dr. Mendelsen and staff were wonderful. All questions and concerns were addressed at the time of the appointment. His treatment was realistic and he was very good with my daughter. She really liked him a lot. I felt comfortable with the treatment plan when we left.
My son had an injury and has been treated and had surgery performed by Dr. Mendelson. I'm very pleased with the care my son has received. We would definitely recommend Dr. Mendelson. All the staff at his office and at Children's Hospital (the day the surgery was performed) were helpful, kind, and professional. Thank you!
he was so nice and helpful.
Dr. Mendelson is a wonderful doctor and is one of our favorites at Children's Hospital. He's done surgery on two of my children. The first one was to put a screw in her foot to repair a fracture. The second was a much longer complicated surgery on my son's hips and leg muscles. For both he took the time to answer all of my questions about the procedures. I was very nervous, but felt like I knew what to expect as far as how long the surgeries would take and what to expect after. Both surgeries went well, he did an excellent job and each took about the expected amount of time. Post op, my son was in the hospital for an extended length of time and either Dr. Mendelson or his fellow/residents checked on him often. Any concerns I had were immediately addressed while still inpatient and during follow up appointments as well. I would recommend Dr. Mendelson for anyone whose child needs an orthopedic surgeon! He was very skilled as a surgeon and was also very friendly and really took the time to answer all my questions. Both of the kids who had the surgeries really liked him as well, and that's important. As a parent, you want your children to like the providers as well and feel comfortable going to see them.
I never feel rushed with Dr. Mendelson. He always patiently listens.
we really like Dr. Mendolson and his entire staff.
everyone I saw during my appointment was very kind and helpful to me! Thank you
Dr M. was very nice and warm.
We had a very positive experience. I thought my child received the necessary attention he needed for his injured leg to heal.
The doctor was very nice.
He was very friendly and courteous
Excellent doctor! Very knowledgeable and attentive.
Wonderful experience. Dr. Mendelson was a class act.
We have always had great experiences with Dr. Mendelson.
I don't feel like all my questions were answered by the provider. I felt like I was dismissed in some cases .
Dr. Mendelson did a phenomenal job on my child's surgery! I can't thank him enough.
would like to hear more details about the xrays done and the results. often vague answers to questions are given.
Dr. Mendehlson was excellent. Spent good time with us, explained well and answered all questions I had and was very kind to my child. Highly recommended
They are all friendly and kind and speedy! we got in and out in no time flat... :) a good experience!
This is the most efficient office I have ever been to. They respect my time and there is no time wasted just sitting around waiting. I would recommend the doctor, his staff, and Children's Hospital to absolutely anyone.
Dr Mendleson is a wonderful Dr. he did awesome with my daughter's surgery and she dont have a bad scar hes very loving and caring best dr ever.
we really liked Dr. Mendholson and our visit to his office at the main Children's Hospital was a very good experience.
My family is so fortunate to be served with such caring staff at your facility. Thank you so much.
We had a wonderful office staff member who escorted us out the quickest way possible since my child was on crutches
doesn't spend much time and doesn't talk to the child who is having the orthopedic issue.
Dr. Mendelson and staff have been wonderful in treating my child both before, during and all after care related to her spinal sugery.
Dr. Mendelson is the absolute best!
He wasn't certain about the problem with my child he was a little bit rude. He wasn't aware of her limitations.
dr mendleson and the ladies in. X-ray are wonderful!
We left with a lot of questions, he was in a hurry and ready to leave the room. very quick to make a decision that we felt should have been explained in more detail and we should have talked about it. we will be seeking a 2nd opinion
The Doctor is awesome and i wouldnt have anyone else work on my son except him
We had good experience.
I waited for a LONG time before finally seeing the doctor and when he finally came into the room the exam was over quickly.
Dr. Mendelson is an excellent doctor. He is very caring and thorough.
Dr Mendelson took the time to explain to me the nature of my daughter's injury. He went through it step by step so that I would understand what was wrong.
My child's provider was amazing!
Dr Mendleson is the best he even gave me a hug when i was crying over my daughter needing surgery
The only thing that I would have to add is that in my opinion, the doctor seemed rushed. that he did not want to sit and listen to the questions I have to ask
great care with children
I have had my daughter there a few times she has a bone disease and autism with very bad anxiety Dr.Mendelson was great with her she just loves him.
We've always had great help from everyone at Children's Hospital. It was a little challenging this visit simply because we were there so long waiting. None of our previous appointments have taken this long to be seen.
Dr. Mendleson and his staff came in our room with smiles and positive attitudes. The whole team there worked together to get us quickly taken care of, and on our way. From X-ray, to seeing the doctor, to having a cast cut off and replaced, only took an hour. That was amazing!!! They talked to my son on every step, which made him comfortable with what was going on. The doctor was confident in his decisions, and expressed himself well to children. I would drive an hour to see them, over the 10 mins to my local orthopedic any day!!!
Overall good experience ... great place, great staff/doctor
the staff was very attentive at the desk and we did not wait long to be seen though it was beyond our appointment time. the doctor was really very wonderful and was very hand's on. appreciated his ability to listen and connect with us.
Everyone at the office is always very kind !
This doctor has seen our child since 9 weeks of age. The corrective work done on the club foot is successful. We have had confidence in his skill and are still pleased.
Everyone was extremely helpful, courteous, professional, caring. I had one question that I either didn't understand the answer to or didn't ask clearly and left without a definitive answer
The Dr. took time to listen and review the x-rays with us. He explained my son's condition in terms that is easily understood.
as always the best care ever never leave the office with any questions they are always answered
Dr. Mendelson is a very good doctor. He is kind to my son and relates to all of us very well. He is good at calming my son who suffers from high anxiety.
gives us everything we need
Overall I am satisfied with the care provider, however my husband and I waited for 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment to see him. It was hard to entertain my 1 yr old son in a tiny exam room for that amount of time.
it was excellent
very fast service, courteous staff, we love Dr Mendleson!
