Hometown: Denver, Colo.

College/Medical School: The Colorado College University of Colorado at Denver School Of Medicine

Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, biking, skiing, ceramics, playing with my two Scottish terriers (Louise and Clementine).

Travels/Languages: My husband and I try to go on at least one travel adventure each year. We have done lots of local trips like camping in the Laurel Highlands, as well as international trips, such as to Cape Town, South Africa! Last year we packed up our dogs and drove from Pittsburgh to Maine and then back through New England and Canada. The year before that we went to the Caribbean island of Dominica for a hiking trip! This year we are planning to drive down to New Orleans in the Fall and then go to the Pacific Northwest in the Spring.

An Interesting Fact About Yourself: My high school job one summer was working at a paleontological dig site excavating fossils from the Miocene epoch. My best finds were a tortoise shell and ribs from a tapir.

Likes About UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh: My husband is also a physician, and so we went through the couples match for residency. Though we are both originally from Colorado, we decided to look all over the country when we were looking at programs. CHP really stood out as a hospital where residents were not only happy and congenial, but the administration really seemed to be invested in the success of every single resident. Being a large referral hospital, also, I knew I would get exposure to a wide variety of medical conditions to prepare me for my post-residency career.
