Children's Hospital is part of the UPMC family.
The Write Power is an innovative program designed to teach school-aged children how to use written language skills to effectively express their thoughts and ideas. A licensed speech-language pathologist will act as the child’s personal writing coach. Team members will be engaged in a language-rich environment in which they will be given the tools to aid in planning, organizing, drafting, revising, and editing written language.
School-aged children ages 8–13 who have difficulties with written expression and are interested in learning techniques to better gather and organize information in a written format should participate in this program.
The program will be held at:
Sessions will be one hour in length and held twice a week for six consecutive weeks.
Contact the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at 412-692-5580. An evaluation will be conducted by a speech-language pathologist prior to the start of the program.
