Children's Hospital is part of the UPMC family.
This study is designed to help researchers better understand how facial fractures heal and how different ways of treating them help. Through this study, more than 300 participants who receive standard care for facial fractures are being followed.
Children ages birth through 18 who are diagnosed and treated for a facial fracture at the Cleft-Craniofacial Center of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC will be eligible for participation.
Boys: Newborn through age 18
Girls: Newborn through age 18
Participation in the study is the same as standard care for a pediatric facial fracture. Consenting participants will be evaluated through a screening procedure, receive treatment and be followed with a clinical examination by the surgeon after the procedure and annually, thereafter.
Visits: Number dependent on age of participant
Duration: Until participants reach age 18
