Biographical Summary

Peter Wearden, MD, PhD, joins Children's as a congenital cardiothoracic surgeon. He comes to Pittsburgh from The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, where he was chief clinician fellow in pediatric cardiac surgery. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Weardon has a doctorate in pharmacology and toxicology from West Virginia University. Recently, Dr. Wearden was director of surgery for preclinical testing at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
