Paula Eicker, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Director, Transplant Services, Hematology/Oncology, and NeuroscienceAt UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh our nurses set the standards for pediatric care. They understand that each child’s — and family’s — needs are unique, and that outstanding care must be delivered in a diverse and compassionate manner. Nurses play a critical role in fulfilling UPMC Children’s mission of improving the health and well-being of all children through excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. To that end, we ensure they have the necessary tools to fulfill that role. Our Training and Education Program helps nurses develop the knowledge and skills required to deliver quality care in a rapidly changing and technologically advanced environment. The comprehensive My Nursing Career Ladder rewards and acknowledges nurses for their performance and professional growth.
