Support
Programs
The Children’s
Hospital of
Pittsburgh’s
Heart Center
offers support
programs for
children and
parents:
- Heart
Camp
is for children
ages 8 through
16 who have
heart conditions,
including
heart transplant
patients.
Campers
can enjoy
typical
camp activities,
while interacting
with their
doctors
and nurses
in a non-medical
setting.
- Heart-to-Heart
is a parent
support
group designed
to extend
the arm
of care
beyond the
hospital.
Monthly
support
group meetings,
in-house
visiting,
telephone
support
and an annual
family picnic
give parents
the opportunity
to talk
to, interact
with and
support
each other.
Parents
of children
with cardiac
problems
can become
members
of this
free, voluntary
network.
