Center (ICARE)
at Children's
Hospital
of Pittsburgh of UPMC is
dedicated
to caring
for
patients
with
all
types
of intestinal
conditions.
Staff members
have
experience
in treating
various
types
of intestinal
dysfunction
including,
but
not
limited
to:
- Autoimmune enteritis
- Congenital disorders
- Desmoid tumor
- Gastroschisis
- Hirschsprung's disease
- Intestinal atresia
- Malabsorption diseases and disorders

- Malrotation
- Midgut Volvulus
- Motility disorders
- Necrotizing enterocolitis
- Pseudo-obstruction
- Short bowel syndrome
- TPN-induced liver disease

Referral Requirements
Referrals are required from primary care physicians or other Children's
Hospital specialty services. Referrals for patients enrolled in
managed care insurance plans also may require authorization from
the insurance provider and primary care physician. All necessary
referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient's
visit. For accurate numbers or more information, please
