We do this by providing high quality health care services, providing nationally recognized training to health professionals and conducting research that improves treatment.Description of ServicesGeneral Academic Pediatrics provides comprehensive health services, including sick visits and well-child visits, to infants, children and adolescents throughout the Pittsburgh region at two Primary Care Centers, located at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Oakland and in Turtle Creek.At the Primary Care Centers, each child is assigned to a specific doctor or nurse practitioner (primary care provider) who gets to know the child and family, and sees the child for regular health care (checkups, immunizations, etc.). Primary care providers pay attention to how well children are doing medically, develop mentally and socially. Pediatricians on staff provide ongoing, careful supervision to all medical residents and nurse practitioners at the Primary Care Centers. Services and Availability
