Parent-to-Parent Connection
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Division of Pediatric Rheumatology’s Parent-to-Parent Connection is a program for parents and families with a child who has been newly diagnosed with a chronic illness or for those who would like to connect with other families who have a child living with the same chronic illness.
Please call Jessica Standish, Rheumatology social worker, at 412-692-5258 to join this group. Jessica will contact you within one week with the name and e-mail and/or phone number of another family who has given Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC permission for you to contact them.
When you call, be prepared to provide:
- Your name
- Your child’s name
- The child’s disease
- Why you are interested in speaking with another family (i.e., newly diagnosed illness, medication questions, support)
- Your preferred contact information, such as home/cell phone numbers
