Camp Chihopi
June 14-17, 2013
What Is Camp Chihopi?
Every year, more than 50 children ages 7-15 who have received liver transplants and/or intestine transplants enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Emma Kaufmann Camp, located 90 miles south of Pittsburgh near Morgantown, WV.
During this summer camping event, campers are encouraged to make new friends, share their experiences, and participate in a variety of outdoor camp activities to the best of their abilities.
Camp Chihopi provides a non-medical environment where campers can increase self esteem and interact with children with similar medical backgrounds. The camp aims to help children continue to adapt to their chronic condition as a transplant recipient as they mature into young adults.
