Biography Summary

Miya Asato, MD, received her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. She completed her pediatrics and child neurology residencies at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and, most recently, her research fellowship in neurocognitive development at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. Her current NIH-funded research centers on the effects of pediatric epilepsy on brain function. She serves as a preceptor for Child Neurology residents in their inpatient and outpatient service activities in Oakland.
