Biography Summary
Tim Ward, MD, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, attending Catholic grade and high school in the Knoxville section of Pittsburgh. He spent 2 years in college at Penn State University followed by medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He considers J. Leonard Goldner, MD, former chief of orthopaedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center, to be his most important professional mentor and role model. Dr. Ward has recently completed a fellowship in adult spinal surgery and has primarily restricted his current clinical practice to pediatric and adult spinal surgery, although he continues to consult and treat selected pediatric hip and foot disorders.
Dr. Ward has been married since 1979 to Bobette Ward, MD, herself a physician specializing in geriatric medicine. Tim and Bobette live in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh and are the parents of six children. Dr. Tim Ward spends his non- working hours attending various sporting activities that his children are involved in and maintaining an interest in personal fitness and political science.
