Our Services
Social Workers
If you live far from Pittsburgh, the social worker will help arrange transportation and lodging for your family. He or she can also make referrals for financial assistance and other support programs as needed.
It can feel overwhelming to navigate all the phone calls and paperwork. Your social worker is familiar with the different programs available, and will be able to point you towards the right one for your family.
Your social worker will supply educational information and individual, family, and/or group counseling. He or she will also know of support groups that can connect you with other families who are going through the same situation. These connections serve as an important source of information, support, and friendship for many families of transplant candidates and recipients.
A social worker may also be a part your child's psychological and social evaluation.
