Newborn Services
Newborn Follow-up Care
Parents of newborns may choose to receive follow-up care for their babies at our Primary Care Centers. We schedule appointments for newborn follow-up care as soon after discharge as necessary to assure the best care. Faculty experts in breastfeeding and newborn care staff these clinics and supervise residents and medical students from the Magee-Womens Hospital Normal Newborn Nurseries (MWH-NNN).
Call us at 412-692-6000 to make an appointment.
Combined Clinical Services and Teaching
General Academic Pediatric faculty members provide a clinical teaching service at Magee-Womens Hospital Normal Newborn Nurseries (MWH-NNN). Faculty members see newborn babies and their families while teaching pediatric and family medicine residents and medical students about normal newborn assessment, management, discharge planning and breastfeeding education. They also teach the most current medical practices in providing exceptional care to newborns at the MWH-NNN. This is the largest clinical teaching service at Magee-Womens Hospital.
