SIBS Day Workshops
When a child or adolescent has cancer, the diagnosis impacts the entire family. Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Child Life Department offers SIBS Day, a workshop for siblings ages 6–16 to help them better understand cancer.
The four-hour, parent-free workshop for brothers and sisters of Children’s oncology patients includes tours of:
- The operating room
- The helipad
- An inpatient unit
- An outpatient clinic
Participants will learn about cancer, its treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation, and their side effects.
To register a sibling for SIBS Day, contact Laura McCullough at 412-692-5798 or laura.mccullogh@chp.edu
