ChildrensPgh, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s free app for Apple and Android products, features:

  • Symptom Care Guides that help parents make smart decisions on what level of care (if any) is needed and how to provide speedy symptom relief for minor illnesses or injuries parents can manage on their own. It also puts parents in touch with the renowned experts at Children's Hospital.
  • Ability to request an appointment online
  • Links to Children’s Express Care Centers (including directions and contact information)
  • Quick ways to call the hospital or your nearest emergency department
  • 145 Parent Advice Messages dealing with the most common behavior and wellness quesitons parents ask their physicians. Each topic provides a description of the issue, three to five specific recommendations to address the concern, and (often) additional resources which may be useful to your situation. The advice messages can be located by using the alphabetical index, category index, or keyword search.
  • A new, updated Children's Hospital department-by-department directory

Make sure you download the latest update, which includes:

  • Medication and allergy list for tracking important information about your familiy's prescriptions and/or over the counter medications. The feature allows users to add themselves and as many others as they want in order to track which medications they’re taking, dosages, strength, frequency, prescription number, the pharmacy phone number (with the ability to call the pharmacy directly from that screen), and other notes. Users can also track allergies.
