Children's South, set to relocate from Bethel Park to South Fayette Township on Sept. 29, 2014, will place Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC services — pediatric outpatient services, primary care, and after-hours care — in one highly visible, kid- and family-friendly, easily accessible building.

Services at the New Children’s South

  • Increased exam room space will allow for expanded pediatric subspecialty care including:
    • Adolescent and young adult medicine
    • Allergy
    • Cardiology
    • Chronic pain clinic
    • Cleft-craniofacial services
    • Dentistry
    • Dermatology
    • Endocrinology
    • ENT
    • Gastroenterology
    • Neurology  / BOTOX Clinic
    • Orthopaedics
    • Plastic surgery
    • Pulmonary and sleep medicine
    • Urology
  • State-of-the-art pediatric radiology services, including:
    • Diagnostic digital x-ray and fluoroscopy
    • MRI providing advanced neurological, liver, and cardiac applications
    • Ultrasound
  • Pediatric blood draw
  • 15,000 square feet of open gym and exam room space for rehabilitation services to include:
    • Audiology / Cochlear Implant Clinic
    • Center for Independence
    • Occupational therapy
    • Physical therapy
    • Speech-language pathology 
  • Pediatric behavioral health services, including cognitive therapy and developmental testing
  • Children’s Express Care South Fayette, an after-hours pediatric care center
  • CCP–South Fayette will be in its own suite
  • Moose on the Loose Café, serving Starbucks coffee and specialty drinks

About the Building

In and out, the new Children’s South will resemble the main campus in Lawrenceville — from an abundance of natural light to distraction therapy features for various age groups.

In addition: 

  • LEED certification has been achieved. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based, market­-driven program that provides third-party verification of green buildings.  
  • Built on 2.6 acres
  • 60,000 square feet of medical office space (15,000 square feet will be reserved for future programming needs)
  • 190 parking spaces (60 shared)
