We wait so long to see this particular doctor and he spends less than 5 minutes with us. If I can transfer her care to someone local I will do that. I drive an hour for these appointments, usually have to take off work, she missies school, all for nothing. Very disappointing as I think he's an excellent surgeon. He makes me feel stupid when I ask questions, so I just ask her pediatrician. She currently sees only 1 other specialist at Children's and when he retires we will be done going there.
very good experience.. love dr.alpret
Had a great experience with the care provider
we absolutely love Doctor, and are so greatful for his dedication to repairing my child's ear and hearing!
excessive wait time. Appt scheduled fot 11am. not taken into a room until 11:30. Seen PA at 12:05pm. Dr. Alper at 12:30.
Treatment was so/so, the doctor was very knowledgeable, but distracted by phone calls and seemed to be rushing through my appointment.
great attention to the kiddos! not a long wait.
Everyone was very helpful very nice.and everything moved along smoothly.
Dr. Alper was very through and listened to my concerns.
Dr. Alper is wonderful!!!. You can tell he truly takes his work seriously with compassion & caring. it's not everyday that you find a doctor that fits you into his surgical schedule because he felt that my daughters condition was serious enough and didn't want to wait. Totake on that type of commitment knowing the long day that he would have with surgeries all day and added my daughter on even though there was no room really shows his compassion & caring. I give him more than 5 stars !!!!!!!!
Waited 2 hours for appointment. When I got in there, I was dismissed that her problem was going to fall in the 80% of cases that cause all nosebleeds, when I was clearly referred there because her symptoms were atypical. I am a physician and got lectured about the difference between an anterior vs posterior nosebleed and "taught" how to hold pressure to stop it. Duh...
He didn't explain information about our sons medical info sent from another doctor
Dr. Alper has helped my son tremendously. He always takes the time to talk directly to my son and speaks honestly about his medical treatment. I really appreciate that. He's the Best!
Nurses, Dr. Alper, Radiologist and X-Ray tech made my daughter feel very calm, safe and relaxed the whole time. It was a very nice experience at Children's South.
I love this provider very much. He has been very good to my daughter and very helpful to our family.
excellent keep it up
wait times are unacceptable
waited an hour to see the doctor who spent less than 10 mins with my child
the appointment time was at 3.30. we were seen by 5 pm. too long wait
Dr alper was great I'm very happy we got him
The office staff is so patient and understanding. If you have to see a specialist this is definately the providers you want for your child.
very good and happy overall. I wish my referring pediatrician and thisnspeciaolist had coordinated pertinent information I didn't know, like exact number of times she'd been on antibiotics for this issue in the past 2 years.
total staff were excellent. They did a wonderful job!
Dr alper is fantastic! he's very good with children. he's caring and friendly.
Everyone one very nice, attentive and caring. There was very little wait time between the differnt people who took care of my daughter. they were all very sweet with her.The doctor was understanding.
scheduler told us the appointment was at the main facility, but it was the south campus. had to drive an extra 2 hours and then wait as the dr was still willing to see us, which I thought was generous.
appointments are never on time. arrived early and waited over an hour after my scheduled appointment time and had to cancel later appointments that were previously scheduled. this is starting to become a real nuisance. Understand that the Dr has a high patient load, but this appointment took way too long to schedule. my poor son has been struggling with non-stop ear infections, and it took at least a good 4 months to get him to be seen. I see that as unacceptable to have a child suffer like that for so long.
did not spend enough time examining my son. did notfully explain all options. very unprofessional. will never come back
Dr. Alper and everyone in the Alligator pod were wonderful. Dr. Alper took time out to talk directly to my daughter about cats in effort to ease her nervousness. Dr. Alper was very friendly and pleasant.
Dr alpher is very good at his work
It has been a pleasure to have Dr. Alper and his team care for both my children and their ears. We've been seeing him for almost 10 years now and he really knows how to make some scary or stressful situations more pleasant. He's the best physician when it comes to dealing with children. Thank You.
I love Dr. Alper. He is so knowledgeable and gentle with my daughter.
great nurses, staff and doctor, caring
The doctor was very attentive to the needs of my daughter. He showed compassion and understanding for her fears of being at the hospital.
Best doctor ever! I've recommended him to my in laws and they love him as well. great bedside manner, my kids love him!!
answered very poor with washing hands... they did not physically use any hand sanitizer or any sort visibly in the room.
Dr. Alper makes my son very comfortable during his visits. Best Dr. we have
very excellent care!
With an ongoing or reoccurring problem, I had hoped to get more help from the doctor finding causes to the reoccurring symptoms. However, even after asking the doctor didn't seem concerned with trying to find the cause at this time.
Dr. Alper is an excellent ENT. My children have seen a few different ENT doctors at children's, and he is by far the best.
Often we've had providers in the past that had their own agenda and really didn't listen, or worse, didn't care what was actually going on with our children. This visit was refreshing, in that the professionals listened to our concerns, and put into consideration where they fit into things and what can be done to further my child's health instead of just putting the kids into a cliche category and assuming. The interaction was empathetic and intelligent, with good information on direction and future expectation of care as far as their clinic goes for my son's health. It was perhaps one of the best clinics i've dealt with so far.
PA that came in before Dr. Alper was wonderful. Very nice, thorough and spent as much time as I needed
Dr. Alper and his staff have treated both my children and has always been wonderful!
Overall, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I just felt like the examination itself was cursory and he probably spent only about 5 or so minutes with us. But he addressed the problem correctly and seemed to really care; he gave us good advice moving forward, and we scheduled a follow-up for two months from now.
we always have a great experience here.
everything was good! no problems here.
The doctor had diagnosed our son before even coming in the exam room. I was still filling out the paperwork that contained his current health information so he did not even have the current medical complaint info. He based his diagnosis on what records existed in UPMC's system rather than listen to the history of our son's ongoing sinus problems that had been treated outside that system (by primary care). He told us what was causing the problem before even looking in our son's ears and nose and handed me papers on how to control acid reflux. When we tried to tell him that the issue he blamed was under control, he dismissed us. He also disregarded that our son is 16 years old and talked only to me as if our son was a child. He spent all of about 5 minutes in the exam room.
We waited almost 2 hours for a very short follow up appointment
This was our first visit and Dr Al and the entire staff was amazing
we love dr Alper
The doctor and staff were very helpful. They had asked about some health information at the start of the visit and I had given them corrections regarding current allergies and a diagnosis, and they had not updated that information on the paperwork that I was sent home with. I don't think it's relevant to what I'll need to do to care for my child, but it could be confusing since it's inaccurate.
We were left in a room for almost an hour, 40 minutes past our appointment time
visit ALWAYS goes well
Dr. Alper was so great to work with. My daughter is often scared of doctors but he was so nice and gentle that my daughter wasn't worried.
