awesome doctor! very friendly. only bad is 3:05 appt. wasnt seen till 430 or so. long wait very backed up. But understand this happens. overall I am very please. thank you!!
I was very pleased with his appointment and care. We did wait an hour past his appointment time before being called back just for xrays however I understand it's a pediatric office and sometimes scheduling doesn't stay on tract and things happen.
wait time was horrendous
I have no complaints, but I wish that Dr. Mendelsohn had directed more of his comments to my son and not just to me. I know he works with kids, but a 17 year needs to learn how to interact with doctors directly.
I really appreciate the level of care and professionalism provided during this hard time for us. We couldn't gotten a better team. Thank you all
My daughter is 16 years old and has been experiencing back pain daily. The doctor only briefly examined her. He directed a general explanation of back pain to me and did not direct conversation to her. Our pediatrician recommended this doctor to us and we were hopeful that he would help us think about ways to address her pain to improve her quality of life. This did not occur. My daughter left the visit with only a suggestion to adjust her lifestyle choices. She does not want to have to give up her sport or experience pain daily when sitting in school. She was disappointed and discouraged.
Dr. Mendelssohn is OUTSTANDING. I recommend him often.
Dr Mendelson is a excellent Dr i recommend him to everyone. Takes very good of my daughter and shes doing so much better since her surgery.
the doctor was very cocky and rude. I was extremely concerned with my sone reinjuring himself due to the rowdiness of his siblings at home. the doctor was rude and laughed at any question or concern I had. I asked him to please show some concern with my child's injury and he stated "put tape on it and have him keep his hand in his pocket" REALLY!?!? this is ridiculous and not a way to treat a patient! plus I had a $30 copay essentially for 2 pieces of 4 inch tape. ridiculous!!
long wait to see dr after xrays were done. had addituonal staff with him that he didn't introduce. no idea who the other two people were. gave us bad news abour my son's back and said he'd see us in 3 mos.
All EXCELLENT from the checkin with Kathy to the rooming with Sharon to the visit with Dr Mendelson. All are top notch!!!
I waited for 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to getting in to the office then another 20 minutes for the Doctor to arrive, When he arrived he did not introduce himself nor did he show compassion for my child who was in distress and looking for relief for the symptoms in which he presented. After the doctor said many times that he cannot help me and continued to question why i was in his office several times despite me telling him that i was referred by the ER the previous night which was less than 8 hours prior to that appointment. He never looked at me nor did he perform a quality and compassionate exam on my son who was presented with very serious symptoms. Despite reading the medical notes from the ER he still remained blunt and reported that he could not help me. After much frustration and despair I assisted my son who was unable to stand alone or walk back into a wheelchair and told him that i was going back to the ER. He never tried to help me with my son who at the time was unable to walk, he never turned his head from the computer to stop me or try and calm me down nor did he offer assistance with the ER transport or call the Neurology department that he repeatedly said that was where I should have been.
We had to wait for an hour and a half to be called back, sitting with 3 kids for that long one being a newborn was not very easy to do. Plenty of people came in after me and were in and out before we ever got called back. I didn't feel confident with the answers I got from the doctor. He didn't seem to be truly listening to the details I was giving about my daughter, he even interrupted me. I asked a question about her having a blood count if her being on an antibiotic could've effected the results and he said it shouldn't. I didn't like the answer being that there is lymphoma on her maternal side and her paternal grandmother died of leukemia, which he explained to me is why they would've ordered a blood count to check for those things. When it is your own child you don't want to hear it shouldn't. I want a crystal clear answer when there are both of those cancers on both sides. I was referred to him by an orthopedic doctor (non pediatric) who had me log the dates of her pain and for how long it effected her. I told this doctor that and he didn't even ask to see them. I just overall feel like he didn't seem to listen to my concerns.
Our questions were answered and we were able to make informed decisions about our child's future treatment.
my child received excellent care from the staff and dr
I like how Dr. Mendelson always takes time to talk with me about school, work, sports, things that are going on in my life. I appreciate how genuine he is during my appointments. He listens to my concerns and carefully explains things to me.
Everyone was excellent
We love Dr. Mendelson. One of the best doctors!!
We were so pleased with how quickly we were able to see Dr. Mendelson. In the past we have waited over an hour. This time we were in and out before our appointment time. We we very happy with him and the timing.
Very positive experience with Dr Mendelson. Referral was made from our local orthopedist after he had determined our son's broken arm was not healing correctly
Dr. Mendelsen and staff were wonderful. All questions and concerns were addressed at the time of the appointment. His treatment was realistic and he was very good with my daughter. She really liked him a lot. I felt comfortable with the treatment plan when we left.
My son had an injury and has been treated and had surgery performed by Dr. Mendelson. I'm very pleased with the care my son has received. We would definitely recommend Dr. Mendelson. All the staff at his office and at Children's Hospital (the day the surgery was performed) were helpful, kind, and professional. Thank you!
he was so nice and helpful.
Dr. Mendelson is a wonderful doctor and is one of our favorites at Children's Hospital. He's done surgery on two of my children. The first one was to put a screw in her foot to repair a fracture. The second was a much longer complicated surgery on my son's hips and leg muscles. For both he took the time to answer all of my questions about the procedures. I was very nervous, but felt like I knew what to expect as far as how long the surgeries would take and what to expect after. Both surgeries went well, he did an excellent job and each took about the expected amount of time. Post op, my son was in the hospital for an extended length of time and either Dr. Mendelson or his fellow/residents checked on him often. Any concerns I had were immediately addressed while still inpatient and during follow up appointments as well. I would recommend Dr. Mendelson for anyone whose child needs an orthopedic surgeon! He was very skilled as a surgeon and was also very friendly and really took the time to answer all my questions. Both of the kids who had the surgeries really liked him as well, and that's important. As a parent, you want your children to like the providers as well and feel comfortable going to see them.
I never feel rushed with Dr. Mendelson. He always patiently listens.
everyone I saw during my appointment was very kind and helpful to me! Thank you
we really like Dr. Mendolson and his entire staff.
Dr M. was very nice and warm.
We had a very positive experience. I thought my child received the necessary attention he needed for his injured leg to heal.
The doctor was very nice.
He was very friendly and courteous
Excellent doctor! Very knowledgeable and attentive.
Wonderful experience. Dr. Mendelson was a class act.
We have always had great experiences with Dr. Mendelson.
I don't feel like all my questions were answered by the provider. I felt like I was dismissed in some cases .
Dr. Mendelson did a phenomenal job on my child's surgery! I can't thank him enough.
would like to hear more details about the xrays done and the results. often vague answers to questions are given.
Dr. Mendehlson was excellent. Spent good time with us, explained well and answered all questions I had and was very kind to my child. Highly recommended
They are all friendly and kind and speedy! we got in and out in no time flat... :) a good experience!
This is the most efficient office I have ever been to. They respect my time and there is no time wasted just sitting around waiting. I would recommend the doctor, his staff, and Children's Hospital to absolutely anyone.
Dr Mendleson is a wonderful Dr. he did awesome with my daughter's surgery and she dont have a bad scar hes very loving and caring best dr ever.
we really liked Dr. Mendholson and our visit to his office at the main Children's Hospital was a very good experience.
My family is so fortunate to be served with such caring staff at your facility. Thank you so much.
We had a wonderful office staff member who escorted us out the quickest way possible since my child was on crutches
Dr. Mendelson and staff have been wonderful in treating my child both before, during and all after care related to her spinal sugery.
doesn't spend much time and doesn't talk to the child who is having the orthopedic issue.
Dr. Mendelson is the absolute best!
He wasn't certain about the problem with my child he was a little bit rude. He wasn't aware of her limitations.
dr mendleson and the ladies in. X-ray are wonderful!
We left with a lot of questions, he was in a hurry and ready to leave the room. very quick to make a decision that we felt should have been explained in more detail and we should have talked about it. we will be seeking a 2nd opinion
The Doctor is awesome and i wouldnt have anyone else work on my son except him
We had good experience.
I waited for a LONG time before finally seeing the doctor and when he finally came into the room the exam was over quickly.
Dr. Mendelson is an excellent doctor. He is very caring and thorough.
Dr Mendelson took the time to explain to me the nature of my daughter's injury. He went through it step by step so that I would understand what was wrong.
My child's provider was amazing!
Dr Mendleson is the best he even gave me a hug when i was crying over my daughter needing surgery
The only thing that I would have to add is that in my opinion, the doctor seemed rushed. that he did not want to sit and listen to the questions I have to ask
great care with children
I have had my daughter there a few times she has a bone disease and autism with very bad anxiety Dr.Mendelson was great with her she just loves him.
We've always had great help from everyone at Children's Hospital. It was a little challenging this visit simply because we were there so long waiting. None of our previous appointments have taken this long to be seen.
Dr. Mendleson and his staff came in our room with smiles and positive attitudes. The whole team there worked together to get us quickly taken care of, and on our way. From X-ray, to seeing the doctor, to having a cast cut off and replaced, only took an hour. That was amazing!!! They talked to my son on every step, which made him comfortable with what was going on. The doctor was confident in his decisions, and expressed himself well to children. I would drive an hour to see them, over the 10 mins to my local orthopedic any day!!!
Overall good experience ... great place, great staff/doctor
Everyone at the office is always very kind !
the staff was very attentive at the desk and we did not wait long to be seen though it was beyond our appointment time. the doctor was really very wonderful and was very hand's on. appreciated his ability to listen and connect with us.
This doctor has seen our child since 9 weeks of age. The corrective work done on the club foot is successful. We have had confidence in his skill and are still pleased.
Dr. Mendelson is outstanding
Everyone was extremely helpful, courteous, professional, caring. I had one question that I either didn't understand the answer to or didn't ask clearly and left without a definitive answer
The Dr. took time to listen and review the x-rays with us. He explained my son's condition in terms that is easily understood.
gives us everything we need
as always the best care ever never leave the office with any questions they are always answered
Dr. Mendelson is a very good doctor. He is kind to my son and relates to all of us very well. He is good at calming my son who suffers from high anxiety.
Overall I am satisfied with the care provider, however my husband and I waited for 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment to see him. It was hard to entertain my 1 yr old son in a tiny exam room for that amount of time.
it was excellent
very fast service, courteous staff, we love Dr Mendleson!
I feel that since my daughter's reasoning for seeing the doctor was not serious, we were rushed out of our appointment and we're not taken seriously.
he's an outstanding compassionate doctor whom is interactive with the child being evaluated and the siblings he takes the time required and we greatly appreciate him for that
experience was good
The staff and doctors are top notch and pleasant.
Promptness with appointment and scheduling of surgery was wonderful.
Very happy with this doctor! Surgical skills are excellent, and he is very knowledgeable.
Dr. Mendelson is wonderful. I would not take either of my boys with club foot to anyone else. Also, the M.A. Courtney needs to be acknowledged. She goes above and beyond for my kids.
Dr Mendelson is great with my son. this visit was a pre op visit. he will be getting surgery to remove pins in his left leg.
Dr. Mendelson wasn't very helpful when we brought up concerns that we (parents) and our pediatrian had about his injury and multiple past injuries. He was so unhelpful that my pediatrian said he would just wait for the report from our visit which should have listed multiple questions that we asked and the answers from Dr Meddelton. However, when our pediatrian received the report it said "Mom has no questions." And the report did not mention any of our conversation and concerns.
great caring Doctor!
Dr Mendelson has been my daughter's orthopedic surgeon for almost a decade. He's made such a wonderful difference in her life and we will be forever grateful.
everyone is so friendly and helpful with our son. he was not thrilled about getting strapped to the table for the X-ray, but the ladies are so fast and helpful.
We are very pleased with the level of care our child has received from Dr. Mendelson and the orthopedic surgery department.
we have had nothing but good experiences when coming to the office of dr. Mendelson . we love him and would want no one else but him to care for our child. he is the best!!
Dr. Mendelson was very kind to my son. He reviewed my son's x-rays with me and explained exactly where the broken bones were located and the best way to fix them. if my son needs to see Orthopedics again, I will ask for Dr. Mendelson.
we were very pleased with our first visit at this hospital. we also were very pleased with her doctor.
great experience! great staff!!
Dr Mendelson was awesome in terms of the long term plan before and after my daughters surgery.
Once we were taken for his appointment, it went quickly. Registration staff were very courteous and answered my questions Didn't spend any time with the Nurse Assistant to properly evaluate the above questions.
Dr. Mendleson has a very easy going personality...Very friendly and easy to talk to
in the past my daughter has not felt a connection with Dr. Mendelson. This visit was completely different. He joked around with her and made her feel very comfortable. He has been seeing her since she was an infant. we have always received top notch care from him. But the connection with my daughter was missing. I'm happy to report that she now wants to come back. She is 13. I recommend Dr Mendelson to everyone I know. I respect him. I think he's a fantastic Doctor.
Doctor Mendelson was very good at making my daughter feel comfortable and not scared during her visit. he was very nice and courteous and made all of us laugh and enjoy the visit more. thank you for the excellent service
Dr. Mendalson is an excellent doctor!
great doctor, cares about lot and makes sure you understand what is going on with your child's care.
we have had Dr Mendleaon since our boy was born with club foot. Has showed nothing but respect and gave reassurance that he would help us. He has done that and more!
The nurse and assisstant staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the doctor was a little rude and acted disinterested. He was very impersonal. He took a glance at my son. He never touched or examined him yet I was asked to take his top off prior to the doctor entering the examination room. The doctor gave off smart and sarcastic remarks when asked questions regarding my sons recovery. Specifically, he made a smart remark stating that if our pediatrician could read we wouldn't have even been in their office for an appointment. When asked if my son had any restrictions between now and our follow-up visit, the doctor gave me a curt look and a said of course he has all restrictions. When asked if he could be specific because my child's school specifically requested that information he was very rude with his response. This was probably one of the worst visits I have ever experienced at Children's Hospital. Especially as a mom experiencing an injury of this nature for the first time.
Always great care! Thank you!
I love Dr Mendelson! He is so great with my daughter and explains things in a way you understand!
Perfect experience!!! Very informative, compassionate and professional!!! Extremely satisfied!!!
We have had nothing but excellent experiences with Dr. Mendelson and his staff. They are always on time and courteous. We would recommend any of them to anyone!
Provider was excellent and helped us interpret situation and determine treatment. Friendly to our daughter and helped her get back to normal quickly.
Just not enough time. He seemed in a rush.
This was the second post-op appointment with Dr. Mendelson regarding my daughters second scoliosis surgery. As usual Dr. Mendelson was gracious, patient, and very knowledgeable.
excellent service the whole way from making the appointment to the exam room to leaving and making a follow up appointment. Friendly staff that puts you at ease! EXCELLENT!
Everyone was very sweet and helpful. He is such a small baby, so when he was squirmy they were always very patient and helpful. We had all great experiences.
Dr. Mendelson is fantastic!!
Dr. Mendelson is one of the best doctors, we have ever met. Thank you, Dr. Mendelson!
The physician was very prompted with the appointment time and even though the appointment went fast I felt all issues regarding my child's illness were addressed.
Dr. Mendelson provided excellent care for my daughter. She was relaxed and comfortable during the appointment due to the reassuring and positive demeanor of him and his staff. I would recommend him to any of my friends in need of a pediatric orthopedist.
I really like Dr. Mendelson...he is a great asset to your hospital!
Dr. Mendelson and his staff have taken wonderful care of my daughter since her spinal fusion surgery in 2011. I am more than satisfied with the services we have received and highly recommend Dr. Mendelson to anyone with a child with orthopedic problems. Excellent doctor!
Great hospital and team
Excellent care each time we have visted CHP!!
All good, nice group.
Kind staff, explanation of the problem and need for surgery, explanation of the survey expectations and process, explanation of pain, explanation of recovery expectations, thorough on what to look for after surgery at home to be aware of, beautifully performed surgery with clean incision
Overall it has been a a pleasure working with Dr. Mendelson regarding my daughters health. Scoliosis surgery to straighten the spine is serious business and I wanted the best for my daughter, and Dr. Mendelson fit the bill. Dr. Mendelson is very smart and I trust his judgement. No one is happy to hear their child needs surgery, my daughter needed the surgery, and I was very happy with the results and the aftercare.
Dr. Dan March assisted Dr. Mendelsons several times! The team made sure that my daughter and our family were taken care of in anyway. He honestly cares about our well being. I couldn't of asked for better professionals.
