PALS Residency Program – Pediatric Advocacy Leadership Service The Pediatric Advocacy-Leadership-Service (PALS) Program is a Primary Care Track within the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The PALS program trains residents to be outstanding primary care pediatricians with the knowledge and skills to provide effective health care, leadership and advocacy on behalf of children and families in medically underserved communities.
The PALS program is housed in the long-standing and highly successful Children's Community Oriented Residency Program (CORE) that promotes child, family, and community advocacy in the context of pediatric training and practice. The PALS Residency Program is made possible through funding by a federal grant.
The PALS program is designed for residents who want to have an impact in addressing the needs of children and families who are underserved.
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Jennifer Elaine Wolford, DO, MPH, PALS Residency Program Director at Jennifer.Wolford@chp.edu

"I enjoyed PALS because it allowed me to get exposure to rural medicine without sacrificing my time on inpatient subspecialties and it allowed me to work with some of the most influential community pediatricians so that I will become a great child advocate." - Jen Wrubel, MD
2014 PALS Graduate and physician at the Primary Care Health Services, Inc.
