Children's Hospital is part of the UPMC family.
A range of treatment options are available to manage any degree of sensorineural hearing loss. Mild cases may be treated with simple strategies, such as preferential seating in the classroom. Our specialists work closely with pediatric audiologists, who can fit hearing aids to children with mild, moderate, or severe hearing loss.
Sensorineural hearing loss should be confirmed by audiogram or auditory brainstem response (ABR).
