Children's Hospital is part of the UPMC family.
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is a modern, technologically advanced facility where approximately 800 catheterization procedures are performed each year. It includes two Cath Lab Suites, one with hybrid capability. The equipment consists of state of the art biplane imaging, which provides excellent quality with a minimal amount of X-ray exposure for patients and medical personnel.
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has been for several years active participant in national quality initiatives such as the IMPACT NCDR registry and C3PO. In addition, the program has been pioneer in embracing novel catheter technologies for the care of patients with congenital heart defects.
