Camp Chihopi is surrounded by more than 200 acres of trees and mountains, and the camp has a private cove and beach on Cheat Lake. With these beautiful natural surroundings, campers have plenty of opportunities for fun outdoor activities, including:
The highlight of Chihopi for all campers and staff is the annual party on Saturday night. The theme for the Chihopi 2017 party is “Zoochopi!” Campers and staff are encouraged to attend dressed for the theme as a favorite animal, keeping in mind the zoo theme for camp this year. There will be lots of additional events that evening to commemorate another great summer at camp!
The campers can’t wait to spend time each day at the Aquatics Center. This incredible water play area has a swimming pool with a shallow and deep end that has lap lanes, 2 water slides, and water volleyball nets – and a separate diving pool! There is also a shallow play pool with a waterfall activity for non-swimmers or anyone who just wants to splash!
From the water activities, the campers can easily walk to covered and open basketball courts, the Teen Center, shaded rest areas, archery, and the horse stable.
