Children's Hospital is part of the UPMC family.
The purpose of this multicenter study is to compare patient satisfaction and delivery of quality of care between physicians and advanced nurse practitioners in an outpatient adult congenital heart disease clinic. With an increasing number of patients in the United States and worldwide reaching adulthood with simple as well as complex congenital heart disease, there are few studies that have evaluated the role of the nurse practitioner in the outpatient adult congenital heart disease clinic regarding patient satisfaction and evaluation of the role of the nurse practitioner within the adult congenital clinic.
The study is open to men and women ages 18 and up with congenital heart disease and who are being followed at the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
Males and Females: Ages 18 and above
Participation requires completing a survey that collects demographic information as well as information on satisfaction with the clinic visit and participant opinions about their own health and well being. The information will be collected during a routine visit to the ACHD Center.
Visits: None beyond a routine visit
Duration: Not applicable
