the Doctor and the Resident were absolutely fantastic!!! put my daughter at ease and answered every question.
Dr. Gittes is a wonderful doctor. She always comes into the exam room prepared, is thoughtful, a good listener and very engaging. Would highly recommend her.
She was very nice, as was everyone in the office that I interacted with while I was there. i was really happy to hear everyone ask me what name I went by or what pronouns I went by. It felt so safe and comforting to finally feel respected and not judged.
Dr. Gittes was excellent with my daughter. She clearly explained everything that was talked about and answered all of our questions. She took her time and never made us feel rushed. Very thorough.
Dr. Gittes is very knowledgeable and personable. She is very good at listening to both the parent and the patient.
I love Dr.Gittes! She always listen to all my concerns.
This was our first visit. The appointment went well and the doctor spent time explaining things.
Dr. Gittes is amazing!!!
willing to work with me, based on my special needs
This was our first visit with Dr Gittes, I was beyond pleased with her! I am so glad that Dr Williams recommended her to us. She explained everything to my teen daughter on her level and really set her mind at ease. It was nice to be given options and not just opinion of what they felt was the best rational of treatment from the Gyn we saw previous. I would recommend Dr Gittes to any mother with a teen having issues.
Just love the personality and caring of Dr Gittes
the provider asked me to leave the office to talk to my daughter alone and then never saw me again or followed up or gave suggestions or recommendations on followup??? very odd
We are shopping for a new primary care doctor, but one of the first things the doctor said was that we may not want to use their office, as the Wexford office is a satellite and things like flu shots aren't available here. She made it sound like leaving the suburbs for the main office in Oakland is a bad thing. So that was off-putting. But also, she focused on my daughter's SYMPTOMS, which we were clear she was receiving psychological counseling for, and didn't ask or listen to the strategies my daughter and her counselor had come up with, nor did she ask if they worked. It felt like instead of saying, "Are we a good fit for a patient-primary care doctor relationship," it was a "Hey, what's wrong with you and I'm going to fix it, independent of what you're already doing/have done." I liked Dr. Gettes herself, but this isn't a good choice for us going forward.
On our first visit, we felt like the doctor made assumptions on appearances without fully listening to what we were telling her. On the follow-up appt, she seemed surprised when we corrected her on some of those assumptions. On the third visit, she listened and referred us to someone else. I think she is a very good doctor who sees certain things and my child didn't fit that mold.
felt like our needs were considered and addressed
I would recommend Dr. Gittes she was so thorough so gentle and extremely friendly!!! I liked her a lot!
she was excellent
This was my first time seeing Dr. Gittes as I just aged out of my pediatrician. She was excellent and helpful with three different health issues we discussed. I look forward to having her as my primary doctor for the next few years while I'm in college.
I was disappointed that the dr did not ask to speak to me after talking to my child and developing an action plan with my child. I did not have an opportunity for any follow up questions.
always listen well
all of it was good experiences. nothing bad. everyone was nice and very helpful.
Dr Gittes is an excellent physician and does excellent job talking with both patient and parent. My daughter has seen Dr Gittes for past 2 years and absolutely adores her bc of her kindness, knowledge and above all listening skills. I wish more physician were like her. I would recommend her to family and friends.
All the staff was excellent with my daughter
Dr. Gittes is very knowledgeable and kind to the child and parents. I am very confident with her care. The only down side is the wait to see her; that being said, I do think it worth it to receive care from a very proficient adolescent specialist.
The doctor spoke directly to my daughter which was great. It was clear that she was great with teenagers and made her feel empowered. Great experience.
Dr. Gittes was a wonderful doctor. Explained things to us in a way we can understand, asked lots of questions which showed interest in really learning about what is going on with her. Overall we think she was excellent.
The doctor showed extreme care and gentleness towards my daughter, making her feel very at ease. She even printed out additional medical information regarding my daughter's issue that further explained things. She showed us that she genuinely cared for my daughter's health and well-being. I even commented to my daughter, "I really like her. She is such a good doctor." She took the time to think through all of my daughter's treatment plans and gave us 3 doctor referrals to get things started.
she is very nice and helpful
The doctor is very thorough and helps my daughter to understand her medical condition and at the same time is very supportive and encouraging.
wonderful care and respect
very personable, knowledgeable and compassionate
