dr Ellen Mitchell is terrific, she did not give up on our case. we couldn't find out the cause of my loss of sight but she kept searching until we found it. Then she sent us to a good specialist. without her I would be totally blind. Thank-you Dr Mitchell
Dr. Mitchell was so kind and understanding. She explained the process and findings in a simple way that was very clear! She was wonderful with my son and he was completely comfortable with her care.
Dr. Mitchel is a wonder and patient doctor.
I was very pleased with the level of care I received at the Eye and Ear Institute and with Dr. Mitchell. I am comfortable and feel confident in working with her.
The office staff, resident, and Dr. Mitchell were all excellent. The dr had all information on previous tests and was up to date on what was going on. It was an overall good experience.
I thought Dr. Mitchel was very intelligent and very engaged in diagnosing my illness. She was very thorough and answered all of my questions.
Dr. Mitchell is an excellent doctor. I feel extremely confident and assured in her assessment and care of our daughter.
Dr. Mitchell is always very personable and relates to my daughter outside the purpose of being her eye specialist. She asks her questions about school and everyday life. She shares things about her own personal life. You can tell that Dr. Mitchell truly cares about her patients.
Dr Mitchell is an excellent provider and I continue to appreciate the care she gives my child.
Doctor Ellen Mitchell is very professional very courteous and knowledgeable. She really did her best to find what was going on with my eyes
My son is autistic and an adult. Dr. Mitchell and her staff at Children's Hospital were excellent. Thank you
Dr.Mitchell is an excellent doctor. She's very down to earth and so kind !
Dr. Mitchell is very thorough and personable.
my daughter went in for a hospital f/u and we have absolutely no complao ts whatsoever.
they are all awesome. they are the best
If I could rate Dr Mitchell higher than a 10, I would. She embodies all the qualities every doctor should have. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to consult with her regarding my health.
First time meeting Dr. Mitchell. She was nice but didn't explain in detail what she saw in my son's eyes.
We love Dr Mitchell.
They were thoughtful and professional, remembering important details about our child.
love the eye center in the children hospital. everyone is super nice
This was our first time seeing Dr. Mitchell. She is absolutely wonderful! We can't wait to see her again. She talked to my daughter and to me. We laughed and joked. We are so glad that we saw Dr. Mitchell-we look forward to seeing her again.
Saw Dr. Mitchell only 10 minutes out of a 150 minute visit. Al testing was done by 2 other people that seemed much less knowledgeable than Dr. Mitchell.
We have always had a wonderful experience!
This was the SLOWEST office I've EVER been to! My appointment was at 2pm and I didn't get into see a nurse until around 230p.(I chose to stand in the hallway with my two children because there were so many people in the waiting room), and didn't get seen by a nurse until around 230p. I didn't see the actual provider until I got up to leave with my 3 year old and 10 month old who were restless and hungry at almost 4pm, and a nurse yelled down the hallway to me that the doctor was finally coming to see my son. The doctor was very nice but offered no apology for her extreme tardiness.
Dr. Mitchell took the time to understand my problems and provided me with a new diagnosis.
She's an amazing doctor!!!!
Everyone that we interacted with wad very helpful and friendly.
Dr. Mitchell is always wonderful.
Dr. Mitchell took the time to listen to our concerns and showed in depth understanding of the issue. She was courteous and prompt in seeing us.She was thorough and the visit did not seem rushed. We would definitely recommend Dr. Ellen Mitchell to other families.
This was our first visit to this office (and provider). Thanks to Dr. Mitchell and staff, our visit was wonderful! my child was only 7 months old at the time of the visit, so I was concerned about how he would react to everything. Dr. Mitchell's kind and calming presence immediately put us both at ease! She took the time to explain everything she was doing while simultaneously keeping my child entertained. She made she to answer all of my questions and even made a great suggestion for further care. Thank you so much!!
The only problem was the long waits (one hour each) between tests. Despite this Dr. Mitchell was worth waiting for. She diagnosed the cause, condition and timeline for healing. She had a wonderful disposition and really cared about me as a patient. I would go back to see her anytime.
Dr. Mitchell is always phenomenal, patient and kind to my kids. The assistant, Heather, was by far the best I've ever seen. She handled my three daughters so well, there was no crying or frustrations whatsoever!
we didn't observe any hand washing or glove use even though this was an eye exam. no sinks in the rooms.
had questions that I didn't feel that the doctor seem to be concern about but I was, and I didn't get answers and the answers that I got I feel that the doctor was saying what she wanted and didn't seem to understand my concerns about my vision and was talking to my mom instead of asking me about my concerns, I know that my vision has changed and I wanted to know if I had any concerns for me to worry about. When I left I felt like to didn't kind about me
An excellent provider. I have worked in the medical field for 20 + years and I could not have been more pleased.
everyone is awesome
we always enjoy seeing Dr.Mitchell! We think she is an excellent doctor.
Very friendly and great experience
Dr. Mitchell and the Fellow ( unfortunately cannot remember her name) were both very kind and sensitive to my child's needs. my son has autism and they worked SO well with him. I wish they were his primary doctors!
Dr. Mitchell is a very good neuro opthalmologist.
We learned more in the first 5 minutes with her than we have in the last 6 months at WVU
We have the utmost confidence and respect for Dr. Mitchell.
I like Dr Mitchell and would recommend her
technicians, nurses, residents and Dr. Ellen Mitchell exceeded my expectations. knowing my 3 appointments in a row for Dr., testing & Dr. again would endure 3-5 hours was a dreadful thought before arriving. time went quickly in a pleasant environment an knowledgeable staff.
Staff and physician was wonderful and caring! Please share this with everyone!
everyone did a amazing job
I Had a great visit Great staff and a wonderful Doctor Thank You
I was very pleased with the care that we got while in the office. I was nervous bringing in a 3 year old to get his eyes checked. I was comfortable with the outcome of our visit.
We received and excellent and thorough exam from a very caring doctor, Dr. Mitchell.
When calling this office, it is difficult to get through. You have to leave a message then someone calls you back.
I was very please with the doctor. He was very informative. I was disappointed that they did not have my child's past medical records and did not want to get the. However I was very pleased that they didn't find any medical concern that we didn't need to return.
Outstanding in every respect!
even though we did not come up with the reason for my problem, I would highly recommend Dr. Mitchell. She spent a lot of time with me and was wonderful, as was the staff.
great experience from top to bottom
I was seen by 3 people at Dr. Mitchell's office, including her, a fellow, and an ophthalmologist (I'm guessing, from the tests he ran on me). They all listened to me every step of the way, and took my concerns seriously. It was the first time, after YEARS of complaining to other doctors of the same problem, that anyone took me seriously, other than the referring neurologist. When Dr. Mitchell and the fellow (whose name I can't recall) compared notes (they did separate exams), they came to the same conclusion, that I have two conditions that are affecting my eyes (I only knew of one), proving that I'm not making it up, as I was accused by a different doctor. When Dr. Mitchell came to a bit of a roadblock in treating my problem (it's only intermittent, and the fix needs to be applied permanently to my glasses - when I'm not having the problem, the fix would actually cause me to have the problem), I offered that I could get a 2nd pair of glasses made this year, so they can apply the fix to one pair for me to use when I'm experiencing the problem, and have one pair for when I'm not. She thought that sounded like a good way to deal with the situation. I was glad that she allowed me to have input in how we fixed this going forward. She's a very relaxed person, while also being very professional. I was glad to hear that the problem wasn't all in my mind, or something that I just had to put up with, all things suggested by other doctors. I told her, while it's not fun to hear that I have a second condition affecting my eyes, it is a relief to have answers, and for that, I'm grateful to her. I'm so glad she is very nice, and got to the bottom of my problem. I've just met too many uptight neurologists who don't listen, even if all they have to do is run tests to find out the answers, like Dr. Mitchell and her staff did. It made driving 40-some miles with a minivan that has a leaky brake line worth it!
This was my first visit to this specialist and to any UPMC facility in Oakland. Everyone in the back office was extremely professional, knowledgeable and empathetic. They were able to elicit the symptoms manifested and make a diagnosis. They provided medication along with education related to the disease and medication SE. They provided me with direction for follow up care with the intent to arrange it for me. They are a great team and I feel very lucky to have found them.
Everyone was very professional and friendly toward me and my children.
dr. Mitchell was excellent the 2 times we saw her! very prompt with calling with test results and took time to answer my questions.
she was excellent and I would highly recommend her
