It's never fun listening to your kid scream in pain, but I think Dr. Marks did a great job of talking her through it, getting her consent before touching her, and working with us to do the procedure in a way that made it as smooth as it could have gone.
Very professional staff and physician. My daughter was very impressed that Dr. Marks gave her choices about her treatment.
this provider is nothing like the previous physician we had seen. she is very nice and courteous and takes her time. she did not have the attending complete the majority of the assessment and and then spend two minutes in the room with us. she took her time and explained where we could go with the progress and talked to me about options and not automatically make a medical determination prior to meeting me or examining my daughter and did not falsify her examination report summary as many physicians at UPMC have. this is what a passionate provider and any provider should do.
it was our first visit with Dr Marks. she was very helpful with my sons skin condition and prescribed medication for the problem.
Impression of the provider was overall good, she seems competent, but definitely didn't want to spend much time in the room. Given we wait weeks for an appointment, I think most would expect to get a full 7-10 minutes with the provider.

Physician was very kind and professional.
I felt the provider was rushing and I did not get to fully explain my concerns. When I asked questions, I was told the answers would be on the paper I would get at the end. She did not seem willing to take the time to hear my concerns or answer my questions.
Dr. Marks was very personable and interacted well with my child, but I felt rushed and was not able to explain my child's problems in full detail.
Dr Mark took time to listen my concerns and made referrals to follow up with other specialists. she stayed in the room with myself and husband on speaker phone to help us with any questions.
Very professional, no wait time, clear instructions/explanations for further care.

Provider used liquid nitrogen on my son's arm, but did not get all the growths. When asked why, she really did not give much of an answer. This makes me have to come back for another treatment.
My son has had black heads in his ears with regular cysts for several years. The provider did not ask questions or give any cause of this problem. A prescription of Retin A was given.I asked her to extract a large (VERY OLD) blackhead that was in a location difficult to get to. She declined and suggested letting the medication pull it out.

We were very pleased with our treatment; and we felt educated as our regular children's doctor could not tell us what the rash was from. Dr. Marks was very informative and helpful.
Dr. Marks was great--she was efficient and sympathetic, and gave us several options for possible courses of action.

we have never seen this doctor before at the practice. she was absolutely wonderful. she showed concern and honestly made me leave feeling a sense of relief as if we were going to actually find an answer or at least rule some things out.
The Provider came in nearly 45 minutes after our appointment time. She never even bothered to apologize or address the long wait. It was very evident she was trying to quickly get through the appointment-she spent less than 5 minutes with us total. She prescribed a medication but never advised on how to use it, never discussed if there was a need for follow up care, etc. When she came back and advised the script was faxed, I saw it was to a pharmacy we had never used. She didn't have an explanation as to why it was sent there. I gave her the new pharmacy information and she was to resend. I later got a call from a different location of the pharmacy I had asked it to be faxed to-she sent it to the incorrect place again. I would never come back to this Provider, after waiting for months this felt like nothing more than a waste of time. We will look outside of Children's for future appointments we may need.

Dr. Marks was worst provider we have seen in many years. No eye contact and kept looking down at her paperwork. Did not engage in conversation and this showed lack of interest/compassion with us!
we had to wait an hour past our appointment time to see the doctor. this was extremely inconvenient and influenced my answers to these questions.
I am satisfied with the care and attention that my child received at this visit. She answered my questions.
We were seen quickly, my son was very comfortable with Dr. Marks and the prescription seems to be working. We are very happy.
