Dr.Espandar is very good at what she does and I appreciate her very much.
This visit was a terminal visit whereby we will no longer make any further visits. We both had eye surgery and the surgery was a huge success. I am grateful for how this all turned out. While I have more glasses than ever I accept that I need them and I use them depending upon my activities and the weather. The surgery was a great success.
The nurse/assistant who first saw me was very helpful and friendly as was the fellow who worked with the doctor. The doctor herself is very good but was in a hurry and a bit scattered. It was as if my eye issues were not that significant. In comparison with some cases she probably sees, I can understand that. Nevertheless, a patient should be treated with a bit more respect than that.
Dr. Espandar is the best at the center in terms of knowing how to treat patients. I don't mind waiting to see her as she's so personable and shows sincere empathy and explains in terms I can understand and doesn't make me feel rushed. Please keep her and ask her to teach others how to make a patient feel cared for.
Dr. and staff had the utmost concern for my welfare and reinforced the necessity of following the doctor's directions and advice.
The resident was an excellent provider of information. She clearly explained things. Dr. Espandar did as well.
it wad really fantastic.
The care provider gave adequate advice and care.
The waiting time was too long.
Appointment scheduled for 9am not seen until 12noon. the provider was behind in seeing patients . she was distracted and overwhelmed
I had an appointment at 11. I sat there until after 1. the doctor saw about 3 people who walked in after me. When I said something to her she said, "they just put people in rooms and don't tell me who came first".
My appointment was at 2:50pm. I was seen by a tech, but waited for two more hours before I saw the resident. Then another half hour before I finally saw Dr. Espandar. I didn't leave the doctor office until 6pm. I realize things occur throughout the day, but knowing she would be so late, I could've left work later for the appt.
All of the staff provided high quality care and compassion.
received highest quality of care from this excellent clinician.
Nothing specific. Always a good experience at the Eye & Ear Institute office.
I waited my appointment two and half hours. It is terrible.
Our medical assistant was wonderful! We loved her! However people kept walking into the exam room randomly, looking for her. It was quite annoying and rude. I never did get to see the doctor because my appointment was at 11:10am, and I left at 1:20pm because the wait was so long and I had another doctor I had to be at up the street at 1:30pm. I was very disappointed in the wait. It was clear that everyone was headed off to lunch, and didn't even acknowledge us waiting so long. No attempt was made to fix the situation as we let the receptionist know that we had no choice but to leave to make my other appointment.
If this group was not the quality group it is in all categories, I wouldn't be there. Clearly one of the best!
I had a long wait to see the DR.
Everything was just great!
DR. Espandar is an excellent doctor.
They're all great. Best provider UPMC has to offer
I was rushed through the appointment and released quick as if the provider would not have any interest in treating me.
Overall, I had a good visit. However, I was concerned with my wait time. I saw an eye technician, almost 15 minutes are arriving. However, I had to wait for almost 1 hour and 45 minutes, prior to seeing the doctor. I received an apology, and I understand the inner-workings of an office full of patients. However, it was too long to wait.
Dr. Espandar is one of the kindest doctors I have ever gone to. She is very professional, yet friendly at the same time. I appreciate everything she has done for me!!!
Initial exam was good but waited very long for test results because they seemed to forget I was in the waiting room and had to be consulted before I left. The only reason I was consulted was because I went back to the front desk to remind them I was still waiting.
couldn't be better the entire team was perfect just as always I'm so very happy
My provider and the nurse who cared for me took time and care in listening to my concerns and chief complaints they were treating me for. The front staff was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed.
Ladan is and has been a great physician and surgeon for me this last year. Her whole nursing staff has been wonderful.....especially Julie and Bill.
Doctor Espandar has handled my surgeries and care professionaly, expertly and wth genuine concern for my well being. I am a cenior citizen and have had numerous experiences with doctors and i would rate Dr. Espandar the best.
Very caring and competent physician with excellent interpersonal skills
I thought the physician and the resident both were top-notch. I felt secure and confident in their care.
I did see this doctor towards the end of my visit and touched base with her briefly, but she provided no treatment whatsoever, because this was all done by the resident at the start. I would have preferred this to have been done by the doctor I was assigned to.
Dr. Espandar was very helpful - letting me know I have some kind of dry eye problem and I need to buy an eye masque that I can heat in a microwave- and use that about twice a day/ She gave me all the instructions on how to use this as well.
i had nothing butbthe best care and experience
we waited for 3 HOURS TOTAL!!!!! I will not see this Dr again. She never even acknowledged our ridiculous wait time.
the staff and especially my Dr was wounderful. the waiting time was beyond terrible. I worked for a surgeon fifteen years and never had patients waiting so long. total unnecessary
the only problem is seeing the dr. after one hour of original appointment.
I received excellent care throughout my cataract surgery process. Dr. Espandar is a very good opthamologist!
I liked Dr. Espandar very much, and she explained everything very well.
waited one hour and a half for pre eye exam and another half hour to see the doctor. A long wait for 91 year old woman.
Doctor Espandar and the staff assisting her have provided excellent care on all my visits to the UPMC Eye Center.
Very professional and efficient
Good, very thorough.
Two cataract removal surgeries and everything went better than I hoped it would!
THE WAIT TIME FOR MY APPOINTMENT WAS OVER AN HOUR.
like her very much
My appointment was for 8:30am. I did not see the doctor until 9:45am. This is unacceptable. I was seen my the nurse assistant in a timely manner, but not the doctor.
First visit to Eye and Ear. Thus far pleased with overall care
I arrived at my 9:30 AM appointment at 9:15 AM, and at 9:30 the Technician took me in to check my eyes and run some tests. By about 9:50 AM, I was ushered into another waiting room. I waited there for about two hours, listening to a lot of patients complain, and would have left at 11:45 AM, except I interrupted n aide and said that I could not wait any longer, and she told me that I as next. I decided to wait, even though I had other appointments that day. There was never any communication about the delay, the reason for it, and when patients would be seen. I was grotesque.
the physician and staff are excellent . extremely long wait to be seen . my appt was for 815 and I was still there at 1030
I waited over 1.5 hours to see my physician for a 10 minute visit. If I am expected to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment, I should expect to be seen in a timely manner.
I had a very good experience and am very happy with my experience.
Excellent knowledgable provider!
My appointment with this provider was for 3:30 p.m. I did not see the MD until after 5:00 p.m. Total time in the office was from 3:10 p.m. until after 6:00 p.m. The provider was knowledgeable, the nurse commented that we were early and that's why the wait seemed longer. It was long, it did't seem long.
I had an ok health visit.
Excellent care from Dr Espandar
They were all very good and helpful. This was an eye exam - not regular health so a number of these questions do not seem to apply
my care provider answered any questions i had, in words i could understand.
I liked Dr. Expandar very much. She was very kind and explained my eye problem and the treatment in great detail.
Good Experience: Dr. Ladan Espandar reviewed my case of ocular rosacea and recommended over-the-counter product, GenTeal Gel. Using the Gel at bed time has eliminated all occurrences of my eye lids sticking shut and tearing the cornea since my 02/24/2016 visit. She wrote the product name, "GenTeal Gel," on paper for me, so I would know exactly what to buy and use. This Gel seems to have solved the dry eye problems at bed time; provides good lubricity, keeps eye (mostly my right eye) from sticking shut and tearing the cornea when I open after sleeping. The combination of care Dr. Espandar suggested, the Doxycycline Hyclate prescription, warm compress use (I bought the bead-type mask to stick in the microwave, from her office), eye drops during the day, and washing my eyelids have prevented any sties from forming in the last three months- when Dr. Espandar first saw me and made the Ocular rosacea diagnosis.
Staff and Dr. Espandar are always able to calm my worries and concerns. They work very closely with me in solving any problems that may arise. I highly recommend Eye & Ear and Dr. Espandar.
They were all wonderful. Very professional, friendly and seemed like they really enjoy there work and working with each other.
Dr. Espandar performed a laser procedure that resulted in my no longer needing reading glasses. She is very skilled and knowledgeable.
Referred to Dr. Espandar by my regular opthalmologist who at this point has not been able to diagnose my problem. Dr. Espandar was very easy to talk to and gave me hope that she may be able to diagnose what is going on.
The provider treated me well and assured me that the implant was not damaged and that all was well with my eye and that my eye was dry and she gave me the name of a gel I should use. I liked her.
Dr. Espandar was kind, caring, and provided the expertise that I needed for my ophthalmology needs. I was extremely impressed with her knowledge and treatment. She was very accommodating at scheduling me for surgeries and office visits that best suited my work schedule. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.
