Biography

Linwah Yip, MD, FACS is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Section of Endocrine Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Yip specializes in the molecular genetics of thyroid and parathyroid cancer, and minimally invasive techniques in the surgical treatment of endocrine diseases.

Dr. Yip is board-certified in general surgery. She received an undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., and a medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Yip completed surgical residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago, and University of Florida Health Sciences Center, Jacksonville, Fla., and fellowships at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Yip is a member of a number of professional organizations, such as the Society of Surgical Oncology, American College of Surgeons, American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and Allegheny County Medical Society.
