Biography Summary

Dr. Monica Naik is an Assistant Professor in the division of Neurology in the department of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Naik obtained her medical degree from Seth G. S Medical College, Mumbai, India. She completed her pediatric residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she was a Chief Resident. She completed her Child Neurology residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in 2007 and immediately joined the faculty and specialized in neonatal neurology. Currently, Dr Naik is Director of Neonatal Neurology and specializes in managing common as well as rare neurological disorders that affect newborns, both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She also provides expert antenatal consultation to mothers with fetuses affected with neurological disorders to help plan their pregnancy and postnatal care. She is part of the Neuro-Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Initiative where she actively engages in improving clinical practices and protocols as well as teaching Child Neurology residents, Neonatalogists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.
