Family Forum Programs

Family Forum members may serve in one or more programs based on their interest, skills and departmental needs. In addition, opportunities are available for members to serve on focus groups and on special projects.

Family Faculty

Family Faculty is an ongoing project of Family Forum. The goal of Family Faculty is to prepare members to teach physicians and staff about the experience of health and illness within a patient family. Through sharing their own stories, families illustrate how health care professionals can best partner with families in the delivery of pediatric health care.

Family Advisers

Family Advisers are patient family members who, along with hospital and physician representatives, work as a guide to the hospital’s priorities and planning. Families are assigned to hospital committees to ensure the patient/family perspective is considered in planning patient care and family support initiatives.

Family Forum members hold community seats on hospital standing committees, including:

  • Condition Help Steering Committee
  • Ethics Committee
  • Infectious Disease Committee
  • Patient Safety Oversight Committee
