If your child is experiencing a life-threatening condition, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention at the nearest emergency department.
Wait times displayed are based on the current average time it takes for a patient to be placed in an exam room. Your experience may vary based on the arrival of patients by ambulance or helicopter. Patients with life-threatening conditions will be seen first.

While not every illness or injury requires a trip to the emergency room, there are times when emergency services are needed. Our Emergency Department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You should seek emergency care for life-threatening conditions and other serious medical issues.
For minor illnesses or injuries, UPMC Children's Express Care is the best choice. No appointment is necessary – just walk-in.
All UPMC Children's Express Care locations are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
