Brief Summary of Lecture:Dr. LaFranchi's lecture will enable attendees to appreciate how the changes in newborn screening TSH cutoffs affect the incidence and severity of congenital hypothyroidism, and to be familiar with the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for treatment goals for serum free T4 and TSH levels. Attendees will also gain appreciation of the importance of education of parents on daily dosing of thyroid hormone and adherence to thyroid function test monitoring schedule.
