Brief Summary of Lecture: At the conclusion of Dr. Ginsburg’s lecture, participants will: be familiar with the Seven C’s model of positive youth development and resilience; be familiar with the effects that childhood trauma has on the body, brain, and behavior; understand the basics of trauma informed care, including the critical importance of well boundaried connection and giving youth the experience of having control over their decisions; have a grasp on the behavioral change process and understand how eliciting strengths is critical to the behavioral change process; and be better prepared to eliminate shame from interactions by focusing on building confidence in youth - they will understand that confidence has to be rooted in existing competencies.
