7/11/19 - “Breastfeeding: Risk & Recompense"

Erin Hamilton Spence, MD, IBLC
Neonatologist, Mednax LLC, Pediatrix Medical Group of Texas
Medical Director, Mother’s Milk Bank of North Texas

Brief Summary of Lecture
Mothers in the US overwhelmingly chose to breastfeed. Lack of generational insight and societal pressures separating mothers from newborns wiped out the support culture of lactation, leaving dryads at risk for easily preventable morbidity and mortality. New tools to assist with breastfeeding triage hope to help bridge this gap.

Date and Time: Thursday, July 11, 8-9 a.m.
