Brief Summary of Lecture: Dr. Ray will define telemedicine and review historical and regulatory perspectives of telemedicine for outpatient pediatric care. Focusing first on subspecialty care, Dr. Ray will then discuss a range of telemedicine models (live interactive telemedicine, store-and-forward telemedicine, tele-mentoring) and the evidence around their use and impact. Turning to primary care, Dr. Ray will review telemedicine integrated within the medical home and telemedicine provided by direct-to-comsumer telemedicine companies. Throughout, existing evidence and research gaps will be noted.
