Benedum Pediatric Trauma Program

Bob is an EMS Specialist with the Benedum Pediatric Trauma Program at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with EMS agencies and hospitals that refer patients to Children's Hospital as well as providing appropriate education and feedback to optimize patient care and outcomes. He also interacts with the leadership and staff of the Emergency Department and serves on various committees, including the Emergency Preparedness Leadership Committee. He is an active instructor in Child Passenger Safety and serves on the EMS for Children Committee with the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council, including the Pediatric Safe Transport Workgroup. Bob is an EMS Instructor and is certified to teach various courses including PALS, EPC, BCLS, ACLS, AMLS, and ITLS and works part-time as a Paramedic with Medical Rescue Team South Authority. His EMS background includes 19 years with the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS and he has also worked 10 years at UPMC Prehospital Care as the EMS Specialist for UPMC Shadyside before coming to Children's in 2014.
