Overview
Applicants to the ACGME accredited Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh
must have completed a residency program in pediatrics, internal medicine or family practice. The first year of
fellowship involves intensive training through a interdisciplinary adolescent health curricula and ample clinical
experience in the Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh Adolescent Medicine Clinic, Shuman Detention Center, University
of Pittsburgh Student Health and other community-based sites. In all years, the fellows have opportunities for course
work in research methodology and career development skills, and undertake an independent research project as well as
continuing clinical work. Fellows completing the program become eligible to take the Adolescent Medicine Sub-Board
examination.
