This research study will compare the effect of the two methods of antibiotic susceptibility testing for sputum, the standard testing and the biofilm testing, in patients with Cystic Fibrosis lung infections. The study will examine whether the amount of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the lungs decreases more in the subjects whose antibiotics are selected using the standard testing or the biofilm testing.
All eligible volunteers will be treated with 14 days of antibiotics. Two types of antibiotics will be selected. The antibiotics will be given intravenously (into a vein) and/or by mouth.
Compensation provided. All study-related testing, medication, and supplies will be free of charge.
