The use of formula fortified with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in infants with cystic fibrosis (CF)

The goal of this research is to see if what infants are fed in the first year of life affects the course of their Cystic Fibrosis (CF) disease. At this time nobody knows if changes in the diet make any difference in how sick people with CF are, but there is some evidence that certain fats in the diet may be important for children with CF. It is our goal to see if giving formula with DHA in it to infants with CF provides protection from lung and pancreas disease in the first year of life compared to children who are fed a standard formula.

Compensation provided. All study-related evaluations and formula will be free of charge.
