Adenoidectomy with or without Tubes for Chronic Middle Ear Effusion
The purpose of this study is to determine whether removing the adenoids in addition to draining the ears or inserting tubes prevents further ear disease in young children.
Candidates
- Children 24 to 47 months of age
- Middle ear fluid for 3 months or more
- No previous adenoidectomy
- Study length: monthly visits for 2 years

Duration: 2 years
