The Role of Magnetic Resonance Angiography in the Hemiplegic Migraine of Childhood

The purpose of this research is to help understand the physiological processes associated with acute hemiplegic migraine in children. In this study, investigators will review the medical records of children previously admitted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC with symptoms of acute hemiplegic migraine to determine if cerebral vasopasm was demonstrated during neuroimaging, as well as to confirm that other possible causes of the symptoms, such as seizure, encephalitis and stroke, were ruled out.
