Safety and Immunogenicity of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (TdcP) Vaccine Compared to Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids Adsorbed (Td) In Adolescents and Adults

This is a follow-up to a study conducted five years ago regarding a new type of vaccine (TdcP) against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough). The purpose of that study was to gather more information on the safety and antibody formation of TdcP compared to the safety and antibody formation of Td (a vaccine against only tetanus and diphtheria). The new study will evaluate the persistence over time of the antibodies to tetanus, diphtheria and (in those participants who received TdcP) pertussis.

Candidates
The goal is to follow up with approximately 1,000 participants who took part in the original study. Approximately 100 participants will be asked to take part in the follow-up study at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

All participants who had blood samples taken at the time of the original study are being invited to enroll in this follow-up study.
Boys: 11 and older
Girls: 11 and older

Requirements
Participants will be required to visit the hospital to provide a blood sample and to provide information about their medical histories and current medical conditions.
Visits: 1
Duration: N/A

Status: Open for Enrollment
