Biomarkers in Transplant Recipients

Children who receive all types of transplants are the focus of this study, which is looking at the effect of immunosuppressive drugs on the lymphocyte function. Data gathered in the study will help researchers measure the actual effect of the drugs on cells that cause rejection. This will allow antirejection drugs to be administered in a way that is tailored to the needs of each child. Also, this research will assist in minimizing side effects of antirejection drugs and help ensure the greatest possible antirejection benefit with immunosuppressive drugs.
